Speed and precision in water up to a wire diameter of 0.03 mm with large work pieces
Linear technology has also revolutionised Sodick’s large-size AP series; AP450L and AP500L. The models feature not only the linear motors but also a gantry-shaped machine construction for the ultimate pursuit of accuracy. Water dielectric is available for AP500L, realising high-speed cutting and high accuracy.
Using the fine finishing mode, the AP200L and AP450L are also able to achieve a surface finish which eliminates the need for subsequent polishing in most cases. The combination of high-speed, high-performance and fine machining creates a surface finish down to Ra 0.04.
